The tithe isn't practiced the same way as prescribed by the law, but the principle remains. If you want full-time laborers, buildings, and other necessities, then full-time support for the laborers and property upkeep becomes necessary. Someone has to pay the bills, so if you choose to be a member of a local church, then be a member and support it financially.
