I don't know what tomorrow holds, but I know Who holds tomorrow, and I'm trusting in Him with each new day in His service.
Proverbs 27:1 KJV Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.
Self-glorification is cringe. Either the work of God speaks through my life, or it doesn't. To those who encourage my devotion and submission to this work, I say thank you.
As an example, today my wife learned that a man in her water aerobics and cycling group, to whom she recently gave a copy of my book, A Soldier’s Progress, read it and shared it with another member, saying, "You have to read this book." I wrote this book in my raw, unpolished voice, complete with grammatical errors I missed during proofreading. In a way, I’m glad I didn’t use professional editing or have access to AI tools at the time, because this way my imperfect voice further glorifies the Perfect Voice that saved me.
Proverbs 27:2 KJV Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; a stranger, and not thine own lips.
Road rage is just one public example of such wrath.
Proverbs 27:3 KJV A stone is heavy, and the sand weighty; but a fool's wrath is heavier than them both.
Proverbs 27:4 KJV Wrath is cruel, and anger is outrageous; but who is able to stand before envy?
If you truly love Jewish people, you will not be afraid to rebuke them with the truth and point them toward Jesus Christ. You do not truly love them if you coddle their belief that they are God’s chosen people without accepting Christ.
Proverbs 27:5 KJV Open rebuke is better than secret love.
A true friend doesn't tell you what you want to hear; they tell you what you need to hear.
Proverbs 27:6 KJV Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.
The handwriting has been on the wall for some time now.
Proverbs 27:12 KJV A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself; but the simple pass on, and are punished.
One sharp sword isn't enough; we need an army of sharp swords.
Proverbs 27:17 KJV Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
I am content in Christ.
Proverbs 27:20 KJV Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied.
Paul uses the derogatory term katatomē (concision) for those of the circumcision associated with Jewish identity. He issues a strong warning against their practices and draws a sharp distinction between those who are physically circumcised and those who are spiritually circumcised in Christ.
Philippians 3:2 KJV Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision.
Philippians 3:3 KJV For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.
Paul was a Jew of Jews. After his conversion to Christ, he considered his past Jewishness as nothing more than dung.
Philippians 3:5 KJV Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee;
Philippians 3:6 KJV Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.
Philippians 3:7 KJV But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.
Philippians 3:8 KJV Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,
If you believe you'll earn a spot in heaven based on your good works outweighing your bad, you'll be judged according to the law, found guilty of violating it, and condemned. If you believe in Jesus Christ by faith, His death paid the penalty for our law-breaking sin, graciously granting us acceptance into God's eternal presence.
Faith is not generated by our righteousness; rather, it is the gift of God's righteousness that enables us to believe, repent, and work for His glory, not our own.
Philippians 3:9 KJV And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
Paul did not receive a full revelation concerning the end times. He taught and preached as if the second coming and resurrection could occur in his lifetime. The phrase 'might attain' is a clue to his uncertainty, as we were told that the exact timing would remain a mystery, apart from the signs of the season.
Philippians 3:11 KJV If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.
Paul reiterates his limited understanding and states what he does know: that he is no longer bound by Jewish traditions, and he marches for Christ to the very end, whenever that might be.
Philippians 3:12 KJV Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
Philippians 3:13 KJV Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
Philippians 3:14 KJV I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Christians United for Israel (CUFI) teaches the exact opposite.
Philippians 3:18 KJV (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:
Philippians 3:19 KJV Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)
Those in Christ are no longer of this world. The world is dead to them, because they died to the world and their past.
Philippians 3:20 KJV For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
Philippians 3:21 KJV Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
God cared for us when we were forgotten by the world; therefore, we should care for those who have been forgotten, never forgetting where we came from.
Deuteronomy 24:17 KJV Thou shalt not pervert the judgment of the stranger, nor of the fatherless; nor take a widow's raiment to pledge:
Deuteronomy 24:18 KJV But thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in Egypt, and the LORD thy God redeemed thee thence: therefore I command thee to do this thing.
The conversion of Gentiles who embraced the name of The LORD was foretold long ago. I am one of them. The restoration of Israel encompasses Gentiles, the Remnant of Israel, and Jesus Christ, the Messiah. 1948 is not the fulfillment, not even remotely. The Church is.
Jeremiah 16:19 KJV O LORD, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit.
Jeremiah 16:20 KJV Shall a man make gods unto himself, and they are no gods?
Jeremiah 16:21 KJV Therefore, behold, I will this once cause them to know, I will cause them to know mine hand and my might; and they shall know that my name is The LORD.
Father, may all our work be Your work. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
