The saints of old understood the Godhead, commonly known as the Trinity; they understood Jesus Christ.
Proverbs 30:4 KJV Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou canst tell?
Colossians 2:9 KJV For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
I believe God has given us His pure word in English, the global language that has dominated the world like no other. The King James Bible, the most distributed book in history, embodies this pure and divine gift.
Proverbs 30:5 KJV Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
We do not need to add or take away from the Word of God; we need only trust and obey what is written.
Proverbs 30:6 KJV Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.
The rich and the poor have their own antichrist pits to fall into. Those who are content in Christ avoid both pits.
Proverbs 30:8 KJV Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me:
Proverbs 30:9 KJV Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the LORD? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain.
We live in this generation today.
Proverbs 30:11 KJV There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother.
Proverbs 30:12 KJV There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness.
Proverbs 30:13 KJV There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up.
Proverbs 30:17 KJV The eye that mocketh at his father, and despiseth to obey his mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it.
A systematic study of the ant teaches us that there is a systematic path for spiritual success.
Proverbs 30:25 KJV The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer;
You will never understand the mystery of God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, without understanding Jesus Christ.
Colossians 2:2 KJV That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;
Colossians 2:3 KJV In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
Colossians 2:4 KJV And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words.
Colossians 2:9 KJV For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
We received Christ by faith, and we walk in Christ by faith. There is much tradition throughout Christianity that opposes this faith. Trust in the Word of God, not the traditions of men. Of course, not all tradition is bad, it’s just never the ultimate authority.
Colossians 2:6 KJV As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
Colossians 2:7 KJV Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
Colossians 2:8 KJV Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
You are not complete until you are complete in Christ. This completion is marked by the circumcision of the heart, not the flesh. Furthermore, our fleshly sinful nature is buried by the baptism of the Spirit, that then raises us up in newness of life with Jesus Christ.
Colossians 2:10 KJV And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
Colossians 2:11 KJV In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
Colossians 2:12 KJV Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
Colossians 2:13 KJV And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
Jesus exposed the antichrist spirit and the principalities and powers thereof, and this is how we are to expose such a spirit through His name. If you attempt to do so in your own name, you will end up just like the sons of Sceva.
Colossians 2:15 KJV And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
The shadow of creation and the law all lead to the substance and body of Christ.
Colossians 2:16 KJV Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Colossians 2:17 KJV Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
The worship and focus on Christ alone are deemed insufficient by many. They insist that such worship is inadequate without ascetic practices that include angels and other heavenly objects.
Colossians 2:18 KJV Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
Always focus on the Head, Jesus Christ, and the Body will always fall into its rightful place.
Colossians 2:19 KJV And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.
All you have to do is watch videos of Jewish practices that attempt to 'outsmart God' by circumventing the law, and you will understand this passage. In a Christian context, I call it 'check-the-box' Christianity, which is meaningless.
Colossians 2:20 KJV Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,
Colossians 2:21 KJV (Touch not; taste not; handle not;
Colossians 2:22 KJV Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?
Colossians 2:23 KJV Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.
The written Word of God always paves the way to the Promised Land. If Jesus is not on this way, you are on the wrong path.
Deuteronomy 27:3 KJV And thou shalt write upon them all the words of this law, when thou art passed over, that thou mayest go in unto the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, a land that floweth with milk and honey; as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee.
John 14:6 KJV Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
The Word of God is plain. We are without excuse.
Deuteronomy 27:8 KJV And thou shalt write upon the stones all the words of this law very plainly.
All people fall short of the law and are cursed by it. Only Jesus can redeem us from this curse.
Deuteronomy 27:26 KJV Cursed be he that confirmeth not all the words of this law to do them. And all the people shall say, Amen.
Galatians 3:13 KJV Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
Jeremiah 19 alone teaches us that certain Jews are not our greatest allies.
Jeremiah 19:3 KJV And say, Hear ye the word of the LORD, O kings of Judah, and inhabitants of Jerusalem; Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, the which whosoever heareth, his ears shall tingle.
Father, may Your allies be our allies. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
