If you have placed your trust in the LORD, you know and love the name of JESUS.
Psalms 9:10 KJV And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.
Many seek churches for reasons that have nothing to do with faith, so don’t be surprised by the unreasonable or wicked there. As a new Christian, I assumed all churchgoers were faithful. I soon learned otherwise.
2 Thessalonians 3:1 KJV Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:
2 Thessalonians 3:2 KJV And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.
If there is a support system, there will always be those who will exploit it. I have found this to be true not only in the hireling class within church ministry but also, if not more so, with so-called foreign missionaries. We are not to enable such disorderly conduct by freeloaders with poor work ethics.
2 Thessalonians 3:6 KJV Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.
2 Thessalonians 3:10 KJV For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
2 Thessalonians 3:11 KJV For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.
2 Thessalonians 3:15 KJV Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.
The Lord (Father), Lord Jesus Christ (Son), and Lord of Peace (Holy Spirit) are mentioned in this benediction of the book of 2 Thessalonians. I never see such thrice occurrences as coincidences.
2 Thessalonians 3:16 KJV Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.
2 Thessalonians 3:18 KJV The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
God parted the waters for Moses, Joshua, Elijah, and Elisha. There are no waters He will not part for you if it is according to His will.
Joshua 3:16 KJV That the waters which came down from above stood and rose up upon an heap very far from the city Adam, that is beside Zaretan: and those that came down toward the sea of the plain, even the salt sea, failed, and were cut off: and the people passed over right against Jericho.
Joshua 3:17 KJV And the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD stood firm on dry ground in the midst of Jordan, and all the Israelites passed over on dry ground, until all the people were passed clean over Jordan.
Where you are is perhaps where God wants you. Pray for the peace of your locality.
Jeremiah 29:7 KJV And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the LORD for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace.
Just because people preach in the name of Jesus does not mean they are of Jesus.
Jeremiah 29:9 KJV For they prophesy falsely unto you in my name: I have not sent them, saith the LORD.
Never lose hope despite your circumstances, even if it means waiting 70 years.
Jeremiah 29:10 KJV For thus saith the LORD, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place.
Jeremiah 29:11 KJV For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
The LORD is speaking to His remnant whom He has already found, for no one seeks God with all their heart unless God has first captured it by faith. Case in point: the vile figs.
Jeremiah 29:12 KJV Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
Jeremiah 29:13 KJV And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
Jeremiah 29:16 KJV Know that thus saith the LORD of the king that sitteth upon the throne of David, and of all the people that dwelleth in this city, and of your brethren that are not gone forth with you into captivity;
Jeremiah 29:17 KJV Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will send upon them the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, and will make them like vile figs, that cannot be eaten, they are so evil.
God called certain Jews vile figs and a curse. I suppose God is an antisemite, too.
Jeremiah 29:18 KJV And I will persecute them with the sword, with the famine, and with the pestilence, and will deliver them to be removed to all the kingdoms of the earth, to be a curse, and an astonishment, and an hissing, and a reproach, among all the nations whither I have driven them:
Jeremiah 29:19 KJV Because they have not hearkened to my words, saith the LORD, which I sent unto them by my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them; but ye would not hear, saith the LORD.
Christian Zionist Dispensationalist, are you prepared to call the witness of the LORD a lie?
Jeremiah 29:23 KJV Because they have committed villany in Israel, and have committed adultery with their neighbours' wives, and have spoken lying words in my name, which I have not commanded them; even I know, and am a witness, saith the LORD.
Within the last century or so, an antichrist apologist doctrine called dispensationalism has risen and deceived many. They preach in the name of our God; however, they have caused many to trust in a lie.
Jeremiah 29:31 KJV Send to all them of the captivity, saying, Thus saith the LORD concerning Shemaiah the Nehelamite; Because that Shemaiah hath prophesied unto you, and I sent him not, and he caused you to trust in a lie:
There has been a great failure among the churches in distinguishing between the seed of the evildoers and the seed of Christ.
Jeremiah 29:32 KJV Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite, and his seed: he shall not have a man to dwell among this people; neither shall he behold the good that I will do for my people, saith the LORD; because he hath taught rebellion against the LORD.
Father, may Your discernment be with each of us concerning the sheep and the goats, the wheat and the tares. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
