Herod, an Edomite who converted to Judaism, became a wicked king of the Jews, marked by an antichrist star that led to death and hell. He sought to destroy the true King of the Jews, who was marked by another star that heralded Christ and salvation. Wise men clearly understood that all Israel was not the Israel of God.

Our High Priest is Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Anyone outside of this priesthood is polluted and will lead you to Hell.

Father, You have blessed us with an eternal King and High Priest whom we are called to worship as part of Your honor and glory. Our failure to do so has led to our national demise. Forgive us and strengthen us, O LORD. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
