Gospilled Minute #224
I have been married for over 30 years to the love of my life, and my tongue has often caused mischief, leading me to apologize and repent. None of this involved profanity—just words that were like sharp razors in response to petty offenses in the grand scheme of things. God has greatly tamed my sharp tongue over the years, but it still requires constant vigilance and prayer. We should not devour our spouses and children with prideful or hurtful words. Instead, we can rebuke and chastise lovingly rather than hurtfully. God help us all.
Psalms 52:2 KJV Thy tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.
Psalms 52:3 KJV Thou lovest evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah.
Psalms 52:4 KJV Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue.
If you praise the LORD now, you will praise Him forever.
Psalms 52:8 KJV But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.
Psalms 52:9 KJV I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints.
We are sons and daughters of God because of the love of the Father, the sacrifice of the Son, and the power of the Holy Spirit. God is pure, and those who are truly sons and daughters of God seek to be pure.
1 John 3:1 KJV Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
1 John 3:2 KJV Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
1 John 3:3 KJV And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
Our spirit in Christ never sins, but our flesh does. This is why we must walk by faith in the Spirit and not by feelings in the flesh.
1 John 3:4 KJV Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
1 John 3:5 KJV And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
1 John 3:6 KJV Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
The flesh is a servant of the devil and will die. The born-again spirit is a servant of Christ and will live. Earthly nationality has no part in this, but heavenly spirituality does. Jesus made this very clear in John 8 when speaking to the children of Israel, whom he called children of the devil.
1 John 3:8 KJV He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
1 John 3:9 KJV Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
1 John 3:10 KJV In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
You may not slay with your hands, but do you slay with your thoughts and words?
1 John 3:11 KJV For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
1 John 3:12 KJV Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.
The world already hates us; we don’t need our Christian brothers and sisters doing the same. We are not required to be best friends with every Christian, but our door of love should always remain open.
1 John 3:13 KJV Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.
1 John 3:14 KJV We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.
1 John 3:15 KJV Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
Love is not love without sacrifice, and this sacrifice includes our feelings. How do we find such love to live by? Through faith.
1 John 3:16 KJV Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
1 John 3:17 KJV But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
1 John 3:18 KJV My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
I do not believe that John 3:16 and 1 John 3:16 are coincidental verses.
John 3:16 KJV For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Do you keep God’s commandments? First you must know what these commandments are as expliclity defined by Jesus Christ our Lord.
1 John 3:22 KJV And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
1 John 3:23 KJV And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.
1 John 3:24 KJV And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.
Jesus Christ explicitly commands us to love, live by faith, and be obedient to God’s will. He commands us to love God with all our heart, soul, and mind, and to love our neighbors, enemies, and one another as He loved us, embodying sacrificial love (Matthew 22:37-39, John 13:34). Jesus instructs us to repent, believe the gospel, and abide in Him through faith (Mark 1:15, John 15:4), while also calling us to follow Him, take up our cross, and keep His commandments (Matthew 16:24, John 14:15). He emphasizes forgiveness without limit (Matthew 18:21-22), unceasing prayer (Luke 18:1), and humility through service. Additionally, Jesus commands us to be generous to the poor (Luke 12:33), to preach the gospel and make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19-20), and to live righteously by avoiding sin and staying vigilant until His return (John 8:11, Matthew 24:42).’
If you understand the evil in this passage, you will understand the evil resulting from social media metrics, which are mostly an ad- and bot-driven façade.
1 Samuel 18:6 KJV And it came to pass as they came, when David was returned from the slaughter of the Philistine, that the women came out of all cities of Israel, singing and dancing, to meet king Saul, with tabrets, with joy, and with instruments of musick.
1 Samuel 18:7 KJV And the women answered one another as they played, and said, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands.
1 Samuel 18:8 KJV And Saul was very wroth, and the saying displeased him; and he said, They have ascribed unto David ten thousands, and to me they have ascribed but thousands: and what can he have more but the kingdom?
1 Samuel 18:9 KJV And Saul eyed David from that day and forward.
The closer you draw to the LORD, the greater your enemies will become—often, sadly, even within family and church circles.
1 Samuel 18:29 KJV And Saul was yet the more afraid of David; and Saul became David's enemy continually.
Is the Lord GOD antisemitic? Is He worse than Hitler?
Ezekiel 15:6 KJV Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; As the vine tree among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so will I give the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
Father, regardless of the cost, may we draw closer to You. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
