Sin is extremely heavy. We are not meant to carry it. Jesus has carried it for us straight to hell. Confession and repentance are our release.
Psalms 38:4 KJV For mine iniquities are gone over mine head: as an heavy burden they are too heavy for me.
Psalms 38:5 KJV My wounds stink and are corrupt because of my foolishness.
Psalms 38:18 KJV For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin.
Psalms 38:15 KJV For in thee, O LORD, do I hope: thou wilt hear, O Lord my God.
Obviously, but not for some.
Mark 10:6 KJV But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.
There are many adulterers in America and our churches.
Mark 10:11 KJV And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her.
Mark 10:12 KJV And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.
You must be born again.
Mark 10:14 KJV But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
Mark 10:15 KJV Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.
Mark 10:16 KJV And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.
A wealthy young man approached Jesus, asking, "Good Master, what must I do to inherit eternal life?"
Mark 10:17 KJV And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?
Mark 10:18 KJV And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.
In essence, Jesus was saying that if the young man believed he could save himself through his own goodness, he should obey the commandments flawlessly.
Mark 10:19 KJV Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.
Jesus, seeing through the young man's deception, goes straight to the man’s heart.
Mark 10:21 KJV Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.
He did not want to be saved. He just wanted to add eternal life to his stockpile of wealth.
Mark 10:22 KJV And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.
Gospilled Minute #81
Salvation is entirely God's good work. It's His gift of faith and grace to humanity. Our role is simply to receive this gift, exercising our free will to either accept or reject it.
Mark 10:26 KJV And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved?
Mark 10:27 KJV And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.
If salvation were easy, Jesus would not have had to die on the cross. Salvation may not be easy, but it is rewarding.
Mark 10:29 KJV And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's,
Mark 10:30 KJV But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.
Mark 10:31 KJV But many that are first shall be last; and the last first.
The Jews, Gentiles, you, and I killed Jesus. We are all guilty and in need of His forgiveness and grace.
Mark 10:33 KJV Saying, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests, and unto the scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles:
Mark 10:34 KJV And they shall mock him, and shall scourge him, and shall spit upon him, and shall kill him: and the third day he shall rise again.
True ministry is a life surrendered to the things of God. I died a long time ago.
Mark 10:44 KJV And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all.
Mark 10:45 KJV For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
If they tell you to shut up, shout louder. JESUS!!!
Mark 10:47 KJV And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
Mark 10:48 KJV And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
Faith = Salvation
Mark 10:52 KJV And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.
Unfortunately, some of our children choose this path.
Genesis 38:7 KJV And Er, Judah's firstborn, was wicked in the sight of the LORD; and the LORD slew him.
Sin and foolishness always find us out.
Genesis 38:25 KJV When she was brought forth, she sent to her father in law, saying, By the man, whose these are, am I with child: and she said, Discern, I pray thee, whose are these, the signet, and bracelets, and staff.
Genesis 38:26 KJV And Judah acknowledged them, and said, She hath been more righteous than I; because that I gave her not to Shelah my son. And he knew her again no more.
We all deserve a good butt-whipping from time to time.
Job 5:17 KJV Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty:
Father, thank you for your continual correction and guidance in our lives. You truly love us and will never forsake us. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
