The people of God are a forgiven people through faith in Jesus Christ. These same people have always been spared from the wrath of God, whether it be Noah, who was spared from the flood, or the saints during the seven vials and trumpets, as revealed in Revelation. As for tribulation, this is a different story, which can be associated with God's anger or simply be a trial of our faith.
Psalms 85:2 KJV Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people, thou hast covered all their sin. Selah.
Psalms 85:3 KJV Thou hast taken away all thy wrath: thou hast turned thyself from the fierceness of thine anger.
Psalms 85:4 KJV Turn us, O God of our salvation, and cause thine anger toward us to cease.
God’s people and saints are synonymous as Christians. Judeo-Christianiy is not.
Psalms 85:8 KJV I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly.
When the glory of God dwells in a land, salvation becomes the top priority. Where salvation is a priority, with Christ First in all things, mercy, truth, peace, and righteousness will flourish.
Psalms 85:9 KJV Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land.
Psalms 85:10 KJV Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.
Jesus is glorified as the only true God, coequal with the Father, because as the Son of God, He shares the same glory of the Godhead as the Father and the Holy Spirit, whom He glorifies and who, in turn, glorifies Him.
John 17:1 KJV These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:
John 17:2 KJV As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.
John 17:3 KJV And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
1 John 5:20 KJV And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
John 17:4 KJV I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.
John 17:5 KJV And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
The Name of Jehovah - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - is revealed through Jesus Christ. Consequently, those who do not know Jesus Christ do not truly know Jehovah. In a metaphorical sense, if ‘Jehovah's Witnesses’ were playing horseshoes, they would fall short of the 'ringer' of faith, precisely because they deny the fundamental truth that Jesus is God.
John 17:6 KJV I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.
Jesus Christ is the physical manifestation of the Godhead.
John 17:8 KJV For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.
The 'Lord's Prayer' in John 17 is a specific prayer for His people, commonly known as Christians. For what purpose any prayers for the world beyond this would be, is beyond my comprehension. While prayers like 'Father, forgive them' and 'pray for your enemies' may seem to suggest otherwise on the surface, even these prayers may be solely intended for the saints who will be saved, though currently unknown to us. Therefore, we continue to pray for all men.
John 17:9 KJV I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.’
'Father, forgive them' and 'pray for your enemies':
John 17:20 KJV Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
Jesus, the Son of God, is one with the Father - one God in three persons. Similarly, we are one in the Body of Christ - one Church comprised of many persons, numerous as the sand of the sea. I recently heard a Catholic man assert that Protestants cannot create their own churches. He is correct, for we do not create the Body of Christ; rather, it is the universal Church of believers that Christ Himself established. Neither Protestants nor Catholics create the Church - Christ alone builds His Church, because it is His Body. Therefore, the Church is found in Him, not in any particular man centered denomination or institution, regardless of such boasting of men.
John 17:11 KJV And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.
John 17:21 KJV That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
If you are born again - part of the Body of Christ, unless you are Judas the son of perdition, you will not be lost again if it were possible to lose salvation. It seems that the Father gave Judas to Jesus as lost, a man who was never saved. It is never a matter of losing salvation; it's always a matter of being saved in the first place.
John 17:12 KJV While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.
I read where Jesus says we must be born again; however, I find nowhere where He says we can be lost again.
John 3:7 KJV Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
Our joy is in Christ, not the world. If you are depressed all of the time, perhaps you are looking for this joy in all of the wrong places.
John 17:13 KJV And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.
John 17:14 KJV I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
Father, deliver us from evil. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
John 17:15 KJV I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
How do you expect to know the truth if you never open the Bible? If you're waiting for such truth from the Epstein files, don't hold your breath.
John 17:17 KJV Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
Jesus Christ has always existed as the Son of God. No one knows the Father except through Him.
John 17:24 KJV Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.
John 17:25 KJV O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.
John 17:26 KJV And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.
I believe Moses was more of an expository preacher than a topical one, because soothing topics often avoid painful exposition.
Exodus 35:1 KJV And Moses gathered all the congregation of the children of Israel together, and said unto them, These are the words which the LORD hath commanded, that ye should do them.
Willing hearts love God by faith. God forces no one to love Him or live by such faith.
Exodus 35:21 KJV And they came, every one whose heart stirred him up, and every one whom his spirit made willing, and they brought the LORD'S offering to the work of the tabernacle of the congregation, and for all his service, and for the holy garments.
Exodus 35:29 KJV The children of Israel brought a willing offering unto the LORD, every man and woman, whose heart made them willing to bring for all manner of work, which the LORD had commanded to be made by the hand of Moses.
Women's hearts are stirred for the work of the Lord too. Women have their own work and men have their own work, which are not the same.
Exodus 35:25 KJV And all the women that were wise hearted did spin with their hands, and brought that which they had spun, both of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, and of fine linen.
The Jews (Tribe of Judah) have always been given the choice to use their gifts for Christ or for the antichrist spirit. Some have chosen to work for the Church, while others have chosen to work for the Synagogue of Satan.
Exodus 35:30 KJV And Moses said unto the children of Israel, See, the LORD hath called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah;
Exodus 35:31 KJV And he hath filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship;
Exodus 35:32 KJV And to devise curious works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass,
Exodus 35:33 KJV And in the cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of wood, to make any manner of cunning work.
Gospilled Minute #115
Speaking of dead flies, and yes, they stink! I didn't realize that my wife had put fish carcasses in our compost one year, and I learned this truth quickly.
Ecclesiastes 10:1 KJV Dead flies cause the ointment of the apothecary to send forth a stinking savour: so doth a little folly him that is in reputation for wisdom and honour.
Babblers and fools are a dime a dozen. I'm learning more and more to ignore and scroll past their ignorance and foolishness.
Ecclesiastes 10:11 KJV Surely the serpent will bite without enchantment; and a babbler is no better.
Ecclesiastes 10:12 KJV The words of a wise man's mouth are gracious; but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself.
