Shelter in the Storms - Gospilled Minute #17
Initial Prayer Request:
A major storm just came through my mother-in-law's (she's a widow) place, and a huge tree has destroyed her house. She is currently stuck in her living room with rain pouring into the house. She just called us with little cell phone battery left. From what we're hearing, the whole area is impacted.
Update #1: Trees are down everywhere. My son just called to let me know that his friend, who lives nearby, has a truck and chainsaw and is on his way to the house. I've also informed her pastor, so arrangements for her safety are being managed on multiple levels. Thank you for your prayers!
Additionally, if you would like to contribute to her widow relief fund, your donation would be greatly appreciated. She is likely to receive little for her old car, and it's uncertain what her insurance will cover for the house, not to mention the deductible costs.
You can send donations to our church, Soldiers Sanctuary.
I will provide a church receipt via email. For any questions, feel free to contact me at gospilled@protonmail.com
Update #2: She is now in a safe place at the hospital, being evaluated as equipment permits, due to power issues.
Thank you all for your prayers and support. I'm praying for everyone in the CSRA region of GA and SC, as well as anyone else affected by Tropical Storm Helene.
I also want to say thank you to our Christ First friends who have donated $670 to my mother-in-law's widow relief and assistance fund so far!
Update #3: Wow! $777.20 now. I like that 777 number!
Update #4: She has been admitted to the hospital for a heart blockage. If her house had not been hit by the storm, this would not have been discovered as soon as it was. God has a reason for everything, and He is always on time!
Update #5: $877.20, Thank You!
Update #6: Not a heart blockage; her heart blood work is high, and they are keeping her overnight for a stress test in the morning. My daughter just got off the phone with the hospital and this is what she was just told.
Update #7: Thank you for your continued prayers for Linda (Lin's mom); she is still in the hospital being evaluated. Thankfully, she was not physically injured directly by this catastrophe. However, the stress of such situations can definitely take a toll.
Update #8: $977.20, Thank You!
Update #9: Special thanks to the Martin family for ministering to Linda and visiting her in the hospital, and to James for assisting however he could at her house while she is in the hospital. God Bless You!
Update 10: Car is looking salvageable at the moment!
Update 11: Just some of the inside damage. Linda was in her bedroom at 3 am and decided to move to the living room. Thirty minutes later, the tree hit her house, and she would have been in the rubble if she hadn't moved.
Update 12:
Update 13:
Update #14:
Linda did have a mild heart attack. They have her on three heart failure medicines, a heart rate medicine, and baby aspirin. She will have surgery for a catheterization in her groin area when the electricity gets turned back on. Right now, Richmond County has NO water. This means the hospital has no water and is still running on generators. They are trying to get water bottles for the patients. Please keep her and those affected by this hurricane in your prayers. 🙏🙏
Update #15: $1027.20, Thank You!
I have initiated and conducted two GOSPILLED fundraisers this year, and our Christ First troops have rallied for both:
1. Life for the Unborn Little Ones
2. Widow Relief and Assistance (Helene Aftermath)
This is the way it should be. All praise and glory to Christ our King!
James 1:27 KJV Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
